Lexmark Error Message, Left Cartridge Incorrect or Right Cartridge Incorrect

A few months ago I bought my mother-in-law of the new Lexmark X9575 as a simple way to provide printing, faxing and copying functions in one unit. It is not the most technically proficient person in the world. So, I wanted to give her something that is easy to use and maintain. Lexmark 9575 is what is considered a thermal inkjet. This machine produces black printing up to 1200 x 1200 dpi and color at up to 4800 x 2400 dpi. It prints 33 ppm black and 28 ppm in color. So, this machine is the top end of the specs for the relatively low cost. Surprisingly, this device comes standard with color and # 43XL # 44XL black ink out of the box. XL designation means that a high yield. But it never fails that after about 200 prints the time has come for a change of printer ink.

Since the technician in the family was invited to show her how to easily swap out the printer cartridges. After all, I worked at CompUSA for nearly four years. During those years he spent in both sales and service. So for all those years I never had a problem with changing the ink cartridges. I mean how hard can it be? They make those things almost fool proof. Can you imagine my surprise when I pulled out the old black ink (# 44XL), remove the plastic strip and insert the new cartridge into the X9575 only to receive the "Left cartridge incorrect"message. Wow, it's time for an error message will appear, as I was showing my mother-in-law how easy it is to swap out the latest printer cartridges from inkjet printers. Never-the-less I have the necessary research, and recommended means to remedy the mistake and end up calling technical support. The following are the correct steps to solve problems or to the left or right cartridge incorrect cartridge incorrect error situations.

1) Turn off power to the printer.

2) Remove the black power brick / block from the rear of the machine. (This may be a little tough to remove it the first time you remove it.

3) Open the top of the printer / multi-function units.

4) Gently pull the tape to center the carrier printer cartridge.

5) Open either the left or right side and remove the cartridge. (Depends on which side the error occurs on, black on the left, the colors on the right side)

6) Make sure that all the plastic tape covering the new contacts on the cartridge were actually removed.

7) Wipe both cartridge and printer contacts with a dry, lint cloth.

8) Wipe the bottom of the tank with a damp, lint-free cloth to make sure ink is flowing and looks correct.

9) Ensure that no water remains on the cartridge.

10) Re-insert the cartridge into the holder and make sure that the bottom and inserted all the way to the rear of the carrier slot.

11) Reinsert the power brick / block.

12) Reconnect the cable to the printer.

13) Turn on the printer and the error should be resolved.

14) to print alignment and print or copy a few pages to ensure the problem is resolved.
